Yoga Etiquette

In our yoga journey, we are all asked to treat ourselves, others and the environment in a respectful way.  Please observe the following when attending class.

  Honoring Your Body

 ·         Working barefoot is essential. Wear footless tights/leggings, or shorts and a t-shirt.

 ·         Please refrain from eating heavily 2hours before class.  A light snack is fine.

 ·         If you have an acute or chronic disease /injury, seek medical attention from a qualified doctor and check with them about doing hatha yoga. Hatha yoga is often used as an adjunct to a doctor’s care, but not as a substitute for medical care.

 Honoring  Others

  ·         Please respect others by arriving 10 minutes early for class to allow yourself to settle in. Those few minutes to mentally prepare will dramatically improve your practice. We close the studio doors at the start of class so late-comers will not be able to get in

 ·         Please don’t talk during class. Save social conversation for before and after class.

 ·         Please do not wear strong cologne or scent.

 Honoring the Yoga Space

 ·         Please remove your outside footwear at the front door.

 ·         Please leave personal belongings in the cubbyhole in the waiting area.

 ·         Please ensure cell phones/pagers are turned off.

 ·         Please  wipe down the studio mats after class and put props back neatly as you found them.

Namaste
